Welcome to the Costa Brava by gravel! This tour takes you to different villages around the Costa Brava on compact gravel and quiet tarmac roads. The tour is perfect for intermediate level riders seeking an adventure as well as for lesiure cyclists looking for a challenge.

Stay in our handpicked 3*/4* hotels, each adding something diffferent and unique to your expeirence. In Llafranc, enjoy the serentity of the Adults only hotel and spacious rooms. Once in l’Escala, stay inland and discover the boutique hotel with its own wine celler. Wake up to the beautiful seaview and walk around the idyllic vllage of Cadaqués. Stay in a restored Masià (country house) outside of Fiigueres. Stay in a 4* city centre hotel in Girona to witness the incredible cycling atmosphere.

A full breakfast buffet is provided each morning designed to keep you riding. We will provide riders with our recommended stops en route each day as well as recommended evening meals, to ensure you get the best out of each region.

Begin your journey at our Eat Sleep Cycle Cafe in the centre of of town. A short warm up ride along the via verde will ensure you are ready for the week ahead.

Day 1

From Girona to the Costa Brava!

Begin the tour and set off to Llafranc. The ride is steady with no major climbs, but a couple of short, sweet hills taking you through the Baix Empordà known for its numerous midieval villages such as Corça and Peratallada. Once you arrive into Llafranc, why not walk part of the Camí de Ronda or just relax on the beach!

Through Medieval Villages to the Fishing Village of L'Escala

Begin your journey north. Today's route runs parallel from the Costa Brava all the way into l'Escala, taking you through the scenic village of Pals as well as farmlands of the Empordà.

Day 1

Over Cap de Creus to Dalí Country & Cadaqués

Today's ride takes us to the picturesque Cadaqués. The route will first continue inland, taking you through the wetlands of l'Emporda. From Roses, you'll ride against the coast and steadily make your way up into Cadaqués. The ride has a couple of climbs, each steady and rewarding.

Day 1

Across the Empordà wine region to Figueres

It is time to leave the coast and head back inland. Riders have the option of taking the tarmac road out or the gravel path. Less experienced riders may prefer the tarmac as it is more steady. From the top of the first climb, you cross the road and pedal into a haven. The noise from the street will dissappear and you'll be surrounded by compact graval paths, mountains and a seaview. Meet the coastline again until El Port and ride into Llança. There is a spectacular climb from here taking you inland and finally down on the ouskirts of Figueres.

Girona Old Town

The final leg of the tour is a relaxed ride into Girona. This ride takes you into l'Estany, the region home to Banyoles lake and known for its gorgeous countryside and rolling hills. Criss the Fluvià river and make your way throughg small villages until you return to Girona. The tour ends at our Eat Sleep Cycle Cafe. Those wishing to add an extra ngiht to their trip just need to let us know.

We’ll welcome you to the start of your tour, talk you through the week ahead and ensure you have everything you need to enjoy a great ride.

Guests receive a detailled digital Road Book, containing routes, route descriptions, details of hotels and our recommended places to stop along the way and enjoy in the evenings. Guests can choose to navigate from their own phone or GPS devices are available on request.

On a self-guided tour we take care of your luggage and move it from hotel to hotel. We also provide a contact number for support during the trip and will help you out of any situation.

We recommend that guests are able to fix a puncture and perform basic roadside bike repairs to best enjoy a self-gudied tour.

What happens if I need to cancel the trip?

We have a flexible cancelation policy – please take a look at our cancellation policy at the time of booking. If you have any doubts please reach out and we’re happy to help.

Is the tour the right level for me?

We rate our tours from Level 1 (Leisure) to Level 4 (Epic). Each tour contains a description of the level, expected daily ride time, distance and elevation. If you have any doubts we’re more that happy to speak to you on the phone and help to find you the perfect trip!

What about bikes? Can I hire one or should I bring my own?

We recommend that you hire a bike for your tour and will work with you after you book to help you to choose the best size and model for your ride style. If you prefer to bring your bike, it’s no problem. Please be aware that on some of our epic trips we charge a supplement to transport your bike box to our finishing location. If you have any doubts, please ask!

Is insurance included?

Insurance is not included in our tour packages. We highly recommend contracting travel insurance at the time of reservation with a company from where you are from.

Health insurance which covers you for illness or injury whilst cycling in your chosen destination is mandatory, we’ll ask you for details of your insurance providor before you travel.
