Welcome to Girona!

We'll plan your arrival day around your travel plans. We'll meet you on arrival and talk you through the rides ahead over coffee. After checking-in we'll get you set up on your bikes and enjoy the first ride! Tonight dinner is on us at one of our favourite spots in town.

A beautiful ride. Enjoy two steady climbs, sea views and ride through the medieval villages of Empordà.

Day 1

Esponellà and Banyoles Lake

Today we ride north out of Girona and enjoy gently rolling terrain with spectacular views of the snow capped Pyrenees. We'll stop for coffee at a local bakery in Esponellà before continuing the ride to Banyoles Lake. Lunch by the lake is a must before riding back to Girona.

Day 1

Empordà & the Begur Coastline

Today's ride takes us east. Head out across Empordà to the small coastal roads of the Begur headland. Wind through medieval villages, olive groves and vineyards to the town of Pals. From here we'll head to the coast and enjoy a roller-coaster section of steep climbs and descents around the headland, with a picturesque lunch stop en route. Home is back across Empordà.

Day 1

Els Àngels and Santa Pelaia

Finish the week with a classic Girona ride. The first climb starts 10 mins from Girona centre, ride 12 km to the top of Els Àngels and take a look at the sanctuary where artist Salvador Dalí married his muse Gala in 1958. Drop down to Empordà, stop for coffee in teh medieval village of Monells, and take on the last climb of the week to Santa Pelaia. Tonight enjoy a farewell meal with your guide and reflect on an awesome week of bike riding!

This is a private tour designed around you! For groups of 2-5 guests enjoy the compnay of a private guide for your group. For over 5 guides enjoy the luxury of a support vehicle too.

Each morning your guides will give you ride nutrition for the day and we’ll stop for lunch en route too.

Eat Sleep Cycle guides are experienced riders from all walks of life united by a love of cycling who’ll help to keep the group safe, motivated and savouring the trip of a lifetime.

Chris is from Ireland’s North Coast and now a Girona resident. Chris has been cycling for over 35 years. He enjoys meeting people on the bike and exploring new roads. When not guiding he still enjoys the buzz of competition and training! Very fond of a good espresso!

Josep

Josep is from a small city in Catalunya called Reus. He loves cycling and has a passion for sharing cycling experiences with others. He's a guide for Eat Sleep Cycle all over Europe & leads our Morocco tours.

What happens if I need to cancel the trip?

We have a flexible cancelation policy – please take a look at our cancellation policy at the time of booking. If you have any doubts please reach out and we’re happy to help.

Is the tour the right level for me?

We rate our tours from Level 1 (Leisure) to Level 4 (Epic). Each tour contains a description of the level, expected daily ride time, distance and elevation. If you have any doubts we’re more that happy to speak to you on the phone and help to find you the perfect trip!

What about bikes? Can I hire one or should I bring my own?

We recommend that you hire a bike for your tour and will work with you after you book to help you to choose the best size and model for your ride style. If you prefer to bring your bike, it’s no problem. Please be aware that on some of our epic trips we charge a supplement to transport your bike box to our finishing location. If you have any doubts, please ask!

Is insurance included?

Insurance is not included in our tour packages. We highly recommend contracting travel insurance at the time of reservation with a company from where you are from.

Health insurance which covers you for illness or injury whilst cycling in your chosen destination is mandatory, we’ll ask you for details of your insurance providor before you travel.
