GRAN CANARIA RIDE CAMP

Gran Canaria offers smooth roads, sweeping vistas and an average temperature of 18 degrees in January and February.

Join our Ride Camp to enjoy early season base miles in a mild climate and get a head start for the cycling season ahead. Whilst there is plenty of climbing there will be freedom to ride at your own pace and take a break whenever you need to.

Gran Canaria is packed with varied landscapes & micro-climates, and a third of the island is protected as a UNESCO biosphere reserve.

On an Eat Sleep Cycle tour all you have to think about is enjoying your ride. Our trip support is second to none and we pride ourselves on a high staff-guest ratio. We take care of everything so you can savour the ride of a lifetime. This is a flexible itinerary offering riders the opportunity to extend or shorten the ride depending on their fitness level.

IS THIS TOUR FOR ME?

Yes!

The Gran Canaria Ride Camp is focused on early season base miles to prepare you for the season ahead. Whilst there is plenty of climbing, there will be freedom to go at your own pace and miss out climbs because we understand that fitness is not its highest that early in the year.

The support vehicle will never be from the group should you wish to take a break, making this tour accessible for Level 2 (Intermediate) riders looking for a challenge.

We are experienced at adjusting rides to suit different rider levels within a group. Please give us a call if you have any doubts or questions.

FOOD & ACCOMMODATION

Full Board

The cuisine of the Canary Islands combines traditional Spanish recipes with African and Latin-American influences. Some recipes have been imported from the Spanish mainland, but many original flavours can be found in the Canarian specialities. The basis of the typical local cuisine is a variety of vegetables, fruit and fish. Meat usually features as part of a stew and steaks are mostly imported from mainland Spain or South America. Colourful local markets in every town offer an abundance of seasonal produce that is fresh and inexpensive. Sample locally-made specialities, including chorizo, goat’s cheese and honey.

The tour is full-board, including breakfast and evening meals at our hotel, and a simple lunch served roadside or in cafes en route.

LOCAL KNOWLEDGE

Ride with Eat Sleep Cycle and enjoy the best roads, landscapes & cultural experiences thanks to our knowledge.

The enthusiasm of Louise, Lee and Brian is so highly addictive, it makes me regret I was able to spend only 2 days cycling with them. They take care of everything and show you around like a good friend would. Impossible not to love this small business!

Charlotte Meerscchaut

I had a terrific trip. Definitely the best organised cycle trip I’ve been on, in a beautiful part of the world.
