We Made some mistakes with the booking date. Not a problem; date switched straight away. Bikes we needed though weren’t available that day. No problem, bikes were sourced, without diluting the spec. Did we need helmets, shoes and pedals to match? Whatever the problem, it’s not a problem. Bikes were then adjusted perfectly. This is the difference between qualified and dedicated staff and mediocrity or worse with other cycle shops.
We intended cycling which was easy, relaxing and not very taxing or serious. But we were not disregarded. Attending to our needs was still a serious concern. How refreshing.
Next time we return to complete some serious cycling, there is no need to look anywhere else. These people know what they are doing.

Having rented high end bicycles from several different companies, I can confidently say that Eat, Sleep, Cycle (ESC) is hands down the best. One of the reasons I chose Malaga for my most recent cycling adventure was due to the great experience I had renting from ESC in Girona, and discovering that they had a hub in Malaga as well. They employ positive, upbeat people who not only cycle themselves but seem to understand that working for a business should be about building community; if you get that right, then making money will follow. They took their time setting up the bike for me, putting my own saddle on it and ensuring that it fit well, encouraging me to take a spin around the block to make sure everything was good, taking the time to help me upload (download?) routes to my head unit, and even inviting me on their Saturday group ride (which I had a blast at!) Not once did they try to teach this 61 year old how to properly lean a bike on the ground or against a wall, threaten me that I would have to pay extra fees for any damages I incurred to the bike, or try to rush me out the door (all of which occurred during a prior rental with another company). Aside from the excellent service, the bike they rented me performed excellently—it was a Di2 Colnago, and it was nice being able to choose from a number of different bikes on their website. In addition, their kit is the best I’ve purchased—it fits well, it’s made of high quality materials, put together well, and the jerseys and bibs I purchased in Girona over 3 years ago have held up well. The labels indicate they’re designed and made in Girona. ESC is all about building community, from treating customers with compassion, welcoming them to join group rides, giving renters discounts on product purchases, and sourcing the design and manufacturing of their product line in the community to which they belong. I will continue to look for opportunities to be a part of their community, whether it be by renting from them, booking one of their tours, buying more of their kit, or simply giving kudos to others in their Strava community.

We had a great two weeks riding road bikes hired from EatSleepCycle Malaga.

We wanted some winter outdoor cycling and to escape the rain. It was perfect. We were able to wear shorts and short sleeves although if we’d done much more than 1000m of elevation some longer sleeves would have been good.

The sun shone and temperatures were about 18-21 degrees. There was some wind some days but nothing that stopped us getting out.

The shop and workshop staff were super helpful, welcoming and friendly. They welcomed us by name on day 2!

We also hired a bike at short notice for a visitor and ESC swapped it for a different size when it didn’t suit her. My bike had a couple of mechanical challenges but they were sorted in a couple of hours by the workshop.

The routes shared by EatSleepCycle were very helpful and the social ride on Monday was friendly and easy to follow. The quality of the roads is amazing in comparison with the UK and the drivers all super respectful. Not a single real close pass in two weeks of riding. How refreshing!

Had an amazing experience with Eat sleep cycle! Bikes were fully functional, perfectly maintained, and ready to ride. I rented a road bike for myself and an electric gravel bike for my wife, and both were in excellent condition.

The staff were truly great, extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They made sure everything was properly adjusted and took the time to answer all our questions.

Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for quality bikes and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be back!

I rented a road bike from Eat Sleep Cycle for two days to explore the area around Málaga, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish.

Beforehand, Chris gave me a quick call to go over all the details — he’s a native English speaker, incredibly cheerful, and immediately puts a smile on your face. He really thinks along with you and makes sure you leave happy and come back even happier. The whole process felt personal and easy.

The cycling itself was amazing. The area around Málaga offers endless routes with stunning climbs and breathtaking scenery. The roads are smooth and well-maintained, and once you’re outside the city, traffic is light and drivers are genuinely considerate towards cyclists. When you head deeper into the mountains, you can sometimes ride for an hour without seeing a single car — especially on weekdays.

I did a relaxed 45 km route with a friend who had never cycled before, and two days later a challenging 150 km ride through the mountains — both were unforgettable.

With its mild, sunny weather and beautiful landscape, this region is perfect for extending your cycling season when it’s already cold and wet elsewhere in Europe.

Top-notch service, great bikes, and a perfect base for exploring some of the best cycling terrain in southern Spain. Highly recommended!

FAQ

1

2
What day and time can I collect and return my bike?

Bikes can be collected during our Hub opening hours – please check your booking confirmation for the opening hours.

You can request early collection of your bike (for example the evening before to ride early) however we can not guarantee that because another customer has until the end of the day to return the bike.

In Girona, please return your bike by 17:00 on the final day of your reservation or a €20 late fee will apply.

3
How long is a day? (rental period)

When you rent a bike, the days of use are counted from the day of collection to the day of return. On special request you can collect your bike the evening before the start of a rental but this is subject to availability & we cannot guarantee this.

4
What tools and accessories come with the rental bike?

Every bike is supplied with an inner tube, tyre levers & mini-pump.

We do not supply multi-tools – please make sure you are comfortable on your bike before leaving.

We do not supply gas canisters or bidons – these are available to purchase.

We recommend that you bring your own pedals, saddle & helmet, however these can be added to your reservation for a small extra charge.

5
What is the range of the e-Bikes?

The range of the e-bike depends on many different parameters (weight of the rider, terrain, tires, tire pressure, temperature etc.) Please refer to the information listed for each model in the bike hire form for the manufacturer specified ranges.

6
Is a lock provided with the rental bikes?

We do not supply a lock with any of our rental bikes. We do not recommend leaving the bikes unattended. If a bike is stolen during your rental period you are held responsible for the cost of replacing the bike.

Guests are welcome to store the bike at the Eat Sleep Cycle Hub overnight.

7
Can you deliver and collect rental bikes?

Yes – from Girona we deliver bikes to all over the Girona, Costa Brava and Pyrenees region.

From Málaga we deliver bikes to all of Andalucia.

Simply provide your delivery address & ask us for a quote.

8
Do you provide insurance for rental bikes?

We do not offer insurance for damage or theft to rental bikes. Unfortunately insurance companies do not offer these types of policies so Eat Sleep Cycle would need to assume the risk and we do not believe in selling a fictitious product and covering damage.
