The Girona Empordà and Leisure tour begins in the luxurious hotel of Casa Anamaria near Banyoles Lake. Each day, riders ride point to point to their next hotel. The tour takes riders on quiet lanes and occasionally on very compact gravel paths to avoid the most traffic and give riders an easygoing and leisure experience. There is a picnic wine tasting lunch included as well as carefully thought out recommendations for evening meals, designed to give riders a food and cultural experience to remember.

Welcome to Banyoles

We'll collect you from Girona centre for a 30 min shuttle to the peaceful oasis that is Casa Anamaria. We'll help you to get set up on your bike and brief you for the tour ahead. After a light lunch set out on a short, guided warm up ride to Banyoles Lake to ensure everything is running smoothly.

Empordà vineyards

The journey begins today with a point to point ride to Viladamat. It is a scenic ride taking you from the country-side of Banyoles, over la Fluvià river and into the Alt Empordà region known for its winemaking. Halfway through today's ride stop in a local village for a picnic lunch & wine tasting at an Empordà vineyard.

Medieval village of Pals

Today ride south towards the medieval village of Pals on a stunning route that winds through local villages. Coffee and pastries beckon at a local bakery and look out for the castle as you skirt around Montgrí! Spend the afternoon wondering the cobbled streets of Pals and relaxing at the boutique Arke Hotel. Pals is known for growing rice - we'll recommend the perfect spot to enjoy a delicious local rice dish for dinner.

For the last ride head west across more idyllic farmland to the city of Girona. Be sure to stop en route at our favourite local foodtruck & brewery for lunch. The route brings you into Girona along the Ter River - the perfect scenic way to finish your ride. Head to the Eat Sleep Cycle Hub in the afternoon and take some time to explore the medieval streets of the Old Town.

We’ll welcome you to the start of your tour, talk you through the week ahead and ensure you have everything you need to enjoy a great ride.

Guests receive a detailled digital Road Book, containing routes, route descriptions, details of hotels and our recommended places to stop along the way and enjoy in the evenings. Guests can choose to navigate from their own phone or GPS devices are available on request.

On a self-guided tour we take care of your luggage and move it from hotel to hotel. We also provide a contact number for support during the trip and will help you out of any situation.

We recommend that guests are able to fix a puncture and perform basic roadside bike repairs to best enjoy a self-gudied tour.

What happens if I need to cancel the trip?

We have a flexible cancelation policy – please take a look at our cancellation policy at the time of booking. If you have any doubts please reach out and we’re happy to help.

Is the tour the right level for me?

We rate our tours from Level 1 (Leisure) to Level 4 (Epic). Each tour contains a description of the level, expected daily ride time, distance and elevation. If you have any doubts we’re more that happy to speak to you on the phone and help to find you the perfect trip!

What about bikes? Can I hire one or should I bring my own?

We recommend that you hire a bike for your tour and will work with you after you book to help you to choose the best size and model for your ride style. If you prefer to bring your bike, it’s no problem. Please be aware that on some of our epic trips we charge a supplement to transport your bike box to our finishing location. If you have any doubts, please ask!

Is insurance included?

Insurance is not included in our tour packages. We highly recommend contracting travel insurance at the time of reservation with a company from where you are from.

Health insurance which covers you for illness or injury whilst cycling in your chosen destination is mandatory, we’ll ask you for details of your insurance providor before you travel.
