Meet at Venice train station for your transfer to Castel Brando an enjoy a warm welcome from your guides! We’ll spend the afternoon getting your bikes set up and head out on our first ride, a loop ride though the Prosecco Hills and its hilltop villages. In the evening join the group for an aperitivo on the terrace before enjoying our first meal together with a spectacular view!
Today begins with the Passo San Boldo, a beautiful climb known for its tunnels, switchbacks and appearances in the Giro d’Italia. The climb is 6 kms with a stiff average gradient of 7.7%. Find your own rhythm, sit back and enjoy the views unfolding beneath you. Regroup at the top and prepare for your reward – a long descent to the Piave river valley. Our route takes us north east along the valley before heading south to ride along the banks of the Lago de Santa Croci. After the town of Santa Croce the road heads downhill once again, to our resting place back at the hotel.
Today we ride a stunning loop to through the UNESCO Prosecco Hills and visit the town of Conegliano for lunch. In the afternoon enjoy the chance to taste local Prosecco’s and learn about the history of Prosecco making in the region.
Our first point to point is a relaxed ride through hilltop villages and the heart of the prosecco making region to the stunning village of Asolo, and our resting place for the next two nights. We’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch on arrival and guests are free to relax all afternoon, take advantage of the hotel facilities or wonder the cobbled streets of Asolo.
Another Giro d’Italia classic climb beckons! Ride from our hotel to the base of Monte Grappa in Bassano del Grappa. We’ll stop here to enjoy an espresso and prepare for the ascent ahead. The climb stretches a mighty 19 kms and reaches an altitude of 1,700 m – the highest point of our tour. We’ll regroup at the top and enjoy a picnic lunch with an incredible view. With the toughest riding done enjoy a fabulous descent down the northern slopes all the way to the base of the short climb back up to our hotel in Asolo. In the evening take a short shuttle to Basso del Grappa to enjoy an evening in the best traditional restaurant in town. A taste of the local grappa is an essential digestif. Saluti!
For our grand finale of the trip we hug the banks of the River Piave to ride to Treviso, the first city of the Venitian region founded back in 49 BC. We ride small roads all the way into the heart of the city. In the evening we celebrate in style in the city centre of Treviso.
Sadly, it’s time to say goodbye! Plan your onward travel from Treviso. We can arrange private transfers for you on request.
