Bike Hire Coordinator

Job Description

📍 Girona | ⏳ Full-time | 🚴 Cycling & travel-led brand

Eat Sleep Cycle (ESC) is a community-first cycling brand built around great rides, great places and great people. We run award-winning cycling tours across the world, community bike hubs with the world’s finest apparel and a top-of-class bike rental fleet.

We’re looking for a Bike Hire Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operation of our bike rental service and ensure every customer leaves with the right bike, properly set up, and a great first impression of ESC. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role with clear ownership across reservations, fleet readiness, safety standards, and the coordination of Girona services including guided rides, day trips and transfers.

You will play a key role in delivering a first-class rental experience at our Girona bike hire centre while working closely with our mechanics to keep the fleet in top condition. You’ll also contribute to driving hire sales during the off-season and support fleet planning and renewal in line with the annual budget. You will be central to ensuring customers are well served, bikes are safe and ready, and the hire operation runs with care, pace, and consistency.

I think you will be very happy with this job if you:

Genuinely enjoy meeting people and take pride in making their first interaction with ESC a great one — whether they’re a local commuter or a cyclist who’s flown in for the week. You’re organised enough to keep a busy hire operation running smoothly, and calm enough to handle the moments when it doesn’t. You like owning a process end-to-end — from booking to bike check to send-off — and are comfortable doing basic adjustments and safety checks, taking fleet condition personally. You can manage competing priorities without dropping the ball, communicate naturally in English, and hold your own in Spanish or Catalan when the moment calls for it. You like being part of a small, close-knit team where everyone pitches in.

You won’t be happy with this job if:

You prefer a predictable, back-office environment with clearly separated responsibilities, expect detailed direction for every task, feel uncomfortable making quick decisions in a customer-facing setting, or are looking for a role where the weekends are always free.

Why should you work with us?

You should work with us if you want to be part of a passionate, international team building a respected cycling brand with real-world impact. This is a role where your work genuinely matters — influencing sales, shaping customer experience and contributing to how the brand shows up every day. You’ll have opportunities to travel and experience Eat Sleep Cycle trips first-hand, work in a flexible environment that values autonomy and balance, and grow alongside a business that encourages ownership, learning and progression rather than rigid hierarchy.

We are looking for someone that is:

Smart, humble, hardworking, and collaborative.

  • By Smart — we don’t mean a brainiac – we mean curious, fast-learning and interested in understanding how things really work. We aim to automate wherever possible so we can focus on work that genuinely benefits from human judgement and creativity.
  • By Humble — we don’t mean unambitious, we mean it like Marianne Vos and Tadej Pogačar are humble: ambitious, confident and focused on the work rather than ego.
  • By Hardworking — we don’t mean in terms of long hours, we mean when you’re here you’re doing the best work of your life. It means being bold, focused and knocking down walls to get things done. Show grit, take responsibility beyond the moment something is published.
  • By Collaborative — we don’t mean submissive. You step in when something isn’t working, raise issues early, and help move the team forward. Leadership here isn’t a title.

We believe all four matter. We all know people missing one of these and it’s not nice to work with them (no brilliant jerks, no lone wolves please)

Have you made it this far?

If you’re still reading, we think there’s a strong chance you might be our kind of person. Here’s the thing, though — research suggests that 60% of women and underrepresented folks might have already talked themselves out of applying. Even if you don’t check every box above, we want to encourage you to introduce yourself. We believe a diversity of perspectives and experiences makes a team stronger.

1
Minimum 2 years in a customer-facing role
