Start the year as you mean to go on with this five-day tour riding under the winter sun, and welcome in the new year in style in Malaga! Enjoy smooth coastal roads that hug the shoreline, stunning views of the undulating landscape, and a taste of the local culture, food and hospitality.
The tour starts with a warm-up ride on the outskirts of the city of Malaga, el Puerto del León. In the evening, discover the bustling city centre and some of the best local bodegas with a wine and tapas tour. On day 2, after a short transfer out of the city to delve further into the region, ride the meandering rural roads and witness a local man-made wonder, the Caminito del Rey, a wooden walkway pinned to the face of the El Chorro Gorge! The ride offers spectacular views of this area and some more beautiful climbs. The ride on day 3 will head out directly from the hotel. After a hearty buffet, ride east along the coast, the sparkling Mediterranean Sea accompanying you along the flats, until you turn inland and begin the first steady climb. This near 100-km ride offers stunning views of the coastline from way up in the hills surrounding Malaga.
A natural marvel awaits on day 4 as, after a short transfer, the route winds through the countryside towards the natural park of El Torcal de Antequera, home to awe-inspiring, milennia-old rock formations. Then, on day 5, take on the fabled slopes of the Puerto del Sol. The ride snakes southbound through the Malaga hills towards the coast and back to the city.
Spend 5 days soaking up this beautiful coastal region of southern Spain by day and welcome in the New Year in style! Stay in the 4* NH Málaga hotel, just a few minutes from the old town and a 15-minute walk to the beach, ideal for exploring the city centre and stretching your legs after a long ride.

Meet the Eat Sleep Cycle team in Malaga city centre. Unpack and set up the bikes before heading out on a 45-km warm-up ride on the outskirts of the city, climbing el Puerto del Leon.
Today we head back into the hills on a spectacular ride featuring the best of everything Málaga has to offer, sparkling coastal routes and winding mountain roads between mango and avocado farms. The views over the Montes de Málaga and out towards the coast at the summit will not disappoint!
Round off the year with one of Andalucia’s classic climbs, El Puerto del Sol, which often features in the the Vuelta a Andalucía. Starting in Alfarnate, the ride snakes south over the undulating Andalucian landscape back towards the city and coast.
2026 begins with another short transfer to just outside the city, where the ride to El Torcal de Antequera begins. This stunning natural park is home to milennia-old rock formations that used to form the seabed. There’s another day of climbing on the cards today but El Torcal is worth every second.
Fuel up with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before getting a transfer to Álora to ride El Chorro and see the Caminito del Rey, a walkway pinned against the steep walls of the narrow El Chorro gorge. Enjoy a relaxing evening meal in one of Malaga’s best restaurants.
On the sixth and final day of the tour, the time has come to say farewell. Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel and a stroll around the city centre (if there is time!) before starting the journey home.
