If you’re looking for a block of long rides in the winter sun look no further than our Girona Road Camp for racking up quality base miles with like-minded riders. The camp is hosted by coach, pro-triathlete & elite gravel cyclist Angela Neath. She works with endurance athletes from beginners to world-class competitors. With over 15 years of experience as a professional athlete, Angela has raced at the highest levels across triathlon and gravel, earning multiple wins and podiums around the world. Joining Angela is her partner John Skarupa, an endurance athlete, gravel and road cyclist, and an avid adventurer with a passion for exploring by bike. Whether racing or riding remote backroads, he brings a love for challenge, movement, and shared adventure.

We’ve carefully designed the rides for maximum enjoyment during the winter months. Expect to see lots of the stunning coast roads & mediterranean sea and discover a different side to cycling in the Girona region. The camp is designed to be the perfect opportunity to build endurance and base fitness ahead of the coming cycling season.

Enjoy one base for the week at Hotel Carlemany, a stylish city centre hotel located on a large plaça in Girona’s new town. Enjoy breakfast tailored for cyclists and access to the hotel’s bike room. The hotel is located a short 5 minute walk to the Eat Sleep Cycle Hub and Girona city centre.

Rated 3 out of 4 our Advanced tours are designed for people who ride regularly and want back to back challenging days on the bike. Riders should be confident riding in a small group, comfortable on extended climbs (at your own pace) and have good bike handling skills on corners and descents. E-bikes are available on all of our tours.

Day 1
Welcome to Girona

Rendesvoux with the group at Eat Sleep Cycle at 12 noon. Meet your guides, fellow riders and get your bike set up for the week ahead. The first ride is on rolling terrain with two steady climbs and a punchy finish.

Day 2
Rumanya & Calonge

Today we crank up the climbing and enjoy views of the mediterranean as we take on the climbs to Rumanya & Calonge.

Day 3
Esponellà and Banyoles Lake

On Day 3 we’ll take things a little easier – enjoy rolling terrain and a stop for lunch at Banyoles Lake before cruising home.

Day 4
Olot

Today we head north out of the city and climb the Vall de Llemena. Continue climbing to the mountain town of Olot, where we’ll stop to re-fuel. Climb out of Olot and enjoy the reward – a long decent through Santa Pau to Banyoles and back to Girona.

Els Àngels and Santa Pelaia

After yesterday’s sufferfest today we’ll take an easier ride on the classic ‘Hincapie Loop’. After climb one we’ll enjoy a lunch stop in the historic village of Monells, before tackling climb 2 to Santa Pelaia and looping back to Girona

Day 6
Empordà & the Begur Coastline

For our last ride of the week take on a epic endurance ride. Head out across Empordà to the small coastal roads of the Begur headland. We’ll wind through medieval villages, olive groves and vineyards to the town of Pals. From here we’ll head to the coast and enjoy a roller-coaster section of steep climbs and descents around the headland. Celebrate tonight with a special evening meal in Girona centre.

Ride Support

GUIDED RIDES

Enjoy small group sizes and professional, personal support all week from your guides.

We work with an industry leading guide to guest ratio – expect up to 5 guests per guide on the trip.

Each morning your guides will give you ride nutrition for the day. On each ride there will be one or two café stops to refuel (not included in the trip).

Eat Sleep Cycle guides are experienced riders from all walks of life united by a love of cycling who’ll help to keep the group safe, motivated and savouring the trip of a lifetime.

All guests will receive access to our digital Road Book and routes, giving everyone the flexibility to ride at their own pace.

A comfortable e-road bike with a lightweight carbon frameset and a clean-cut design featuring fully integrated cable routing. The Garda Hybrid uses the proven and reliable Mahle X35+ drive unit with 250 Wh motor inserted in the rear hub while the battery is housed in the down tube. The groupset is Shimano 105 Di2. The Garda has an autonomy of 1,000-2,000m of elevation, or constant use 1.5-2hrs – it’s possible to rent a range extender to double the range for an additional fee.

With experience across multiple stage races and events—from mountain bike to road to gravel—John thrives in the long, demanding efforts that test both grit and curiosity. Whether racing or riding remote backroads, he brings a love for challenge, movement, and shared adventure.

Angela

Angela Naeth is a professional triathlete, elite gravel cyclist, and the founder of Angela Naeth Coaching, where she leads a team of coaches working with endurance athletes from beginners to world-class competitors. With over 15 years of experience as a professional athlete, Angela has raced at the highest levels across triathlon and gravel, earning multiple wins and podiums around the world. Driven by a love for adventure and exploring new terrain, Angela thrives on long days in the saddle, discovering remote roads, and pushing limits—on and off the race course. Her coaching approach blends science, strategy, and personal connection, helping athletes unlock their potential while staying grounded in the joy of the sport.

Gethyn

Gethyn is from Wales but has been living in Catalonia for 14 years, and having found a quiet spot in the forest not far from Girona, he has no intention of leaving. Gethyn’s been a part of the ESC team since the early days and loves the job. He rides road and gravel with friends and MTB with his dog.

What happens if I need to cancel the trip?
We have a flexible cancelation policy - please take a look at our cancellation policyat the time of booking. If you have any doubts please reach out and we're happy to help.

Is the tour the right level for me?
We rate our tours from Level 1 (Leisure) to Level 4 (Epic). Each tour contains a description of the level, expected daily ride time, distance and elevation. If you have any doubts we're more that happy to speak to you on the phone and help to find you the perfect trip!

What about bikes? Can I hire one or should I bring my own?
We recommend that you hire a bike for your tour and will work with you after you book to help you to choose the best size and model for your ride style. If you prefer to bring your bike, it's no problem. Please be aware that on some of our epic trips we charge a supplement to transport your bike box to our finishing location. If you have any doubts, please ask!

Is insurance included?
Insurance is not included in our tour packages. We highly recommend contracting travel insurance at the time of reservation with a company from where you are from.

Health insurance which covers you for illness or injury whilst cycling in your chosen destination is mandatory, we'll ask you for details of your insurance provider before you travel.
