The first proper day of climing is calling! Enjoy a 30 km warm-up along the coast road before turning inland and starting to climb from Aguimes. Today’s summit is the pretty town of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. We’ll regroup and enjoy a bite to eat before enjoying a spectacular descent back to Maspalomas.
We’ll take a short transfer along the coast to start today’s climbing in the town of Ingenio. Today we’re heading all the way to the top before looping around on a roller coast route through the towns of Tejeda and Ayacata. Enjoy lush vegetation and a big contrast to the dry south. Home is a series of descents over the last 40 kms of the ride
A classic climb beckons. Today we’re heading to the highest point in the island, the Pico de las Nieves. The ride starts west along the coast before we turn inland to climb to the Carretera de las Presas. Enjoy stunning views as the climb unfolds. We’ll pause in Ayacata to refuel before the final push to the summit. At 1,900 m you’ll see views of the whole island and, on a clear day all the way across to Mont Teide on Tenerife.
Our ride camp culimates in the biggest challenge of them all. We’ll transfer to our start point in Mogán and warm-up on the small climb of San Nicolás. The road takes us north west to the town of La Aldea de San Nicolas and the base of one of the most notourious climbs in cycling. The 10 km climb starts along the valley road into the centre of the island, it soon ramps up with some eye-watering gradients. We’ll celebrate at the top, refuel and head back to Maspalomas (you guessed it, downhill!) for an evening of celebrations.
Sadly, it’s time to say farewell! Enjoy a relaxed morning before taking our group transfer to the airport. Book flights out after 14:00. Alternative transfers are available on request.
