From the Atlantic coast to the clifftops of Ronda, Part 2 of our Vuelta journey captures the incredible diversity of Southern Spain. We begin in Mazagón, riding through the pine forests of the Doñana, before heading inland to witness a high-speed sprint finish in the heart of Seville.
This segment is a highlight for race fans, featuring the Jerez Individual Time Trial—a rare opportunity to see the world’s best specialists in a pure test of speed. We conclude in the historic white village of Ronda, after tackling the formidable Peñas Blancas, a climb that offers some of the most spectacular views in Andalusia.
Rated 3 out of 4 our Advanced tours are designed for people who ride regularly and want back to back challenging days on the bike. Riders should be confident riding in a small group, comfortable on extended climbs (at your own pace) and have good bike handling skills on corners and descents. E-bikes are available on all of our tours.
Welcome to the Atlantic coast. After a transfer from Cordoba, we reach Mazagón. This afternoon is about finding our rhythm with a gentle spin along the coast, enjoying the sea breeze and the unique pine forests of the Doñana edge.
The Vuelta heads to the coast. Today’s loop ride takes us through the historic Palos de la Frontera, the port from which Columbus set sail. We’ll ride the undulating terrain of the Huelva province before seeing the fast-paced finish of Stage 16.
Today we ride toward the capital of Andalusia. The route is flat and fast, mirroring the terrain the sprinters’ teams will use to control the race. We’ll arrive in Seville in time to see the peloton thunder through the city streets for a spectacular Stage 17 sprint finish.
Today we leave the bikes behind to fully experience the drama of the Individual Time Trial. We transfer to Jerez de la Frontera for front-row access to see the specialists fly by in a pure test of power. In the evening, we transfer to the iconic city of Ronda.
We tackle the formidable Peñas Blancas. This is a sustained, scenic ascent with views across to Africa. After watching the race drama unfold on the slopes, we transfer east to Granada for the final tour transition.
