Welcome to cycling paradise at Christmas time! Join the Eat Sleep Cycle team for a week of festivities and cycling in the beautiful region of Girona. Ride out to the Costa Brava, climb Girona’s highest peaks and discover the beauty of the rolling, green Catalan landscape.
Great for couples, solo travellers or anyone who’s looking to balance the Christmas feasting with quality cycling. Enjoy spectacular routes, fantastic meals and cosy evenings! Stay in Hotel Carlemany, a 4* Hotel located in the heart of town and just a few minutes walk from the Eat Sleep Cycle hub. It welcomes cyclists and has a dedicated, secure bike room. The hotel is newly renovated and offers stylish rooms featuring work by leading artists.
Enjoy a breakfast buffet each morning at the hotel and a great variety of evening meals that are included in the tour, as well as the all important Christmas lunch (all enjoyed as a group). As this tour is fully supported by the Eat Sleep Cycle team, we’ll carry a good selection of ride nutrition to keep you fueled on the bike.

Upon arrival in Girona, drop luggage off at the hotel and meet the Eat Sleep Cycle team for a welcome briefing and warm-up ride to Lanes, a 40 km undulating route through the countryside just south of Girona.
On day 2, the route heads north and passes through Esponella, before looping back towards Girona. It also passes through the beautiful town of Banyoles, where cafés and restaurants line the shore of a vast lake, backed by mountains. It’s not to be missed, and a coffee here beside the lake is a must. Enjoy a free evening to explore the city at your own pace, and ask the Eat Sleep Cycle team for recommendations on restaurants and local cultural events.
Day 3 is Christmas Eve and a ride out to the Costa Brava is on the cards. Enjoy these stunning coastal roads and the gentle switchbacks descending into Tossa de Mar. Enjoy the Christmas Eve in the evening and get into the festive spirit with the team and fellow riders!
Day 4 is the big day itself, Christmas, and to celebrate, this festive ride will head up one of Girona’s classic and most rewarding climbs, Els Angels. Ride up to the chapel on top of the hill, then descend down the other side before returning to Girona city centre on the flats. Enjoy Christmas Lunch with the group and a relaxing afternoon.
The penultimate day of the tour falls on Boxing Day, which will be marked by an almost 100 km route around the Empordà countryside. Pass through picture-poscard villages such as Púbol and Torroella de Montgrí. In the evening enjoy a farewell meal and awards night with the Eat Sleep Cycle team!

The ride support vehicle is stocked with natural ride nutrition, electrolytes and water, as well as a full set of tools to resolve any mechanicals. On selected days the support crew will serve a delicious picnic lunch in a scenic location en route. Enjoy local foods chosen to keep you feeling energized and healthy.

The Filante SLR is an extremely lightweight aerodynamic bicycle used by World Tour team Astana. Enjoy a Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset and DT Swiss ERC 1400 wheelset.
Our top of the range road e-bike from Wilier. Enjoy a lightweight carbon frame, carbon wheelset and Shimano Ultegra Di2 shifting. The Filante Hybrid has a range of 1,000-2,000m of elevation, or constant use 1.5-2hrs. Range extenders are avialable to hire which doubles this range.
A comfortable e-road bike with a lightweight carbon frameset and a clean-cut design featuring fully integrated cable routing. The Garda Hybrid uses the proven and reliable Mahle X35+ drive unit with 250 Wh motor inserted in the rear hub while the battery is housed in the down tube. The groupset is Shimano 105 Di2. The Garda has an autonomy of 1,000-2,000m of elevation, or constant use 1.5-2hrs – it’s possible to rent a range extender to double the range for an additional fee.
