Ride from the beachside city of Málaga to the historic city Granada through rural Andalucia and return along the sparking blue coastline of the Costa del Sol. Roll through olive groves and traditional white villages, enjoy warm hospitality and soak up the rich history and culture of the landscape.
Stay in a varied combination of 4* hotels, delightful guesthouses and enjoy a night on the coast in the town of Almuñuecar. Dine out each evening in our favourite restuarants along the route. Take your pick from our recommendations – opt for Spanish cuisine whilst watching a Flamenco show, enjoy seafood at sunset on the beach and taste traditional tapas.

The journey begins in the beachside city of Málaga. Meet with the Eat Sleep Cycle team, set up the bikes and enjoy your first ride of the week. There are two options to choose from – the flat beach road or the Puerto Leon & the Montes de Málaga.
On day 2, ride deep into the heart of rural Andalucia. Ride throught the villages of Periana and Alhama de Granada en route to tonights resting place, a traditional cortijo turned guest house. For those looking for a bigger challenge there is an option to climb the Puerto del Sol from the village of Periana (add 22 km and 600 m of climbing)
Today ride to the historic city of Granada through olive groves, farmlands and finally bike paths through the city. Upon arrival and after a well-deserved rest, enjoy spellbinding evening watching the sunset over the Alhambra.
Make your way south of of the city and soak up views of the Pico de Veleta in the Sierra Nevada mountains on your left. The first 30 kms are spent steadily gaining elevation. The reward comes with a spectucualr descent the to coast on the carretera del cabra. Home tonight is the coastal town of Almuñécar and a hotel with views of the mediterranean.
The final ride hugs the Costa del Sol. Ride from Almuñécar to Málaga with the sea of your left. Your Road Book today will be packed with ice-cream stops, seafood stops, and an option to take the road or the bike path. Pass through fishing villages and resorts. Celebrate your journey in style tonight in Málaga!

We’ll welcome you to the start of your tour, talk you through the week ahead and ensure you have everything you need to enjoy a great ride.
Guests receive a detailed digital Road Book, containing routes, route descriptions, details of hotels and our recommended places to stop along the way and enjoy in the evenings. Guests can choose to navigate from their own phone or GPS devices are available on request.
On a self-guided tour we take care of your luggage and move it from hotel to hotel. We also provide a contact number for support during the trip and will help you out of any situation.
We recommend that guests are able to fix a puncture and perform basic roadside bike repairs to best enjoy a self-guided tour.

A comfortable e-road bike with a lightweight carbon frameset and a clean-cut design featuring fully integrated cable routing. Rafa is from Barcelona and has made the city of Granada his home. Alongside guiding Rafa works as a cycling coach. He rides both road and gravel and has probably climbed the Pico de Veleta more times than anyone else!
Fernando lives in the Montes de Málaga! He’s spent a career travelling extensively and working with the UN. A Malagueñan, Fernando rides MTB and road and continues to love to travel.
