The Eat Sleep Cycle team works across three business streams – the bike shop, the café, cycling tours & bike rental. Our customer facing teams are supported throughout by our team in the warehouse – they take care of our online shop, deliveries, adminstration, marketing & finance.

Mechanic, Full Time

Objectives

Repair and service customer and rental bikes to a high standard. Provide a high level of customer service to local and foreign customers. Use your knowledge to advise on bike components and accessories.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Must be a qualified bicycle mechanic.
  • Minimum 3 years experience working as a mechanic in a bike shop.
  • Knowledge of electronic gearing and high-end road, gravel and MTB.
  • Preferred languages are Catalan, Spanish and English.
  • A love and passion for cycling. Aligned with Eat Sleep Cycle values.

Contract Details

  • 40hr full time contract including possible weekend working.
  • Role based in our Girona Hub & Girona Service Course with our core team.

Tasks & Responsibilities

You will work in our dynamic team to:

  • Build new road, gravel and MTB bikes.
  • Service our Girona rental fleet.
  • Build relationships with our customers and advise them with their cycling & equipment decisions.

Chef, Full Time

Objectives

Create and maintain a menu to satisfy cyclists and local customers alike with a focus on local ingredients and healthy food. Manage the supply chain and all food preparation. If and when required support the recruitment and manage extra kitchen staff.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a chef.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in food supply chain in Catalunya.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Menu creation
  • Work with our team to perfect a creative menu for cyclists and local customers. You need to be open to changing your current style to what will work in this restaurant. 
  • Modify the menu based on the season and changing customer demands.

Kitchen creation

  • Support in the creation of our brand new kitchen to meet your needs, based on the decided menu. Once the kitchen is created, maintain it in perfect working order.

Day-to-day 

  • Order and store all the ingredients needed to prepare your menu. Work to achieve the best value to quality local produce. 
  • Prepare your menu to a high quality, listening and adapting to customer feedback.

Management

  • Support the recruitment and train any new kitchen staff needed to meet the demand of the restaurant.
  • Achieve target margins on your menu, by controlling the supply chain, menu and servings.
  • Be the primary point of contact for the restaurant kitchen to management.

Bartender, Full Time

Objectives

Manage a hardworking, motivated and friendly staff team in a vibrant cycling cafe bar in the center of Girona. Serve high quality coffee, drinks and snacks to cyclists and local people alike.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a cafe, bar or restaurant.
  • Must speak fluent English and Catalan. 

Tasks & Responsibilities

Drinks menu

  • Work with our team to perfect a creative drinks menu for cyclists and local customers. You need to be open to changing your current style to what will work in this bar. 
  • Modify the menu based on the season and changing customer demands.

Bar creation

  • Support in the creation of our brand new bar to meet your needs, based on the decided menu. Once the bar is created, maintain it in perfect working order.

  • Prepare your drinks menu to a high quality, listening and adapting to customer feedback.

  • Hours to include afternoon and evening, the restaurant will not serve dinner but drinks and snacks (tapas)

Finance Assistant, Full Time

Objectives

To report directly into the Financial Controller (FC) and support all financial activities of Eat Sleep Cycle, covering financial administration of all business streams (Retail, Tours and Restaurant).

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Sales: review daily register invoice from the physical and online shop, perform any required adjustments, reconcile to various payment methods.
  • Purchases: work with the Purchasing team to obtain and record all supplier invoices, review and clear balances related to prepayments.
  • Month End activities: e.g. Balance sheet reconciliations e.g. bank reconciliations, fixed asset reconciliation. Monthly journal entries related to Tour and Bike Hire sales per Spanish Travel Agency regulations. 
  • Regulatory reporting: work with the FC to draft and submit monthly (Intrastat), quarterly (M303 and IRPF) and annual (M347) reports. 
  • Ad hoc tasks such as creation of new suppliers with relevant tax details etc.
  • Submission of financial documentation to the town hall and relevant government bodies, where required.

Skills and Experience

  • Essential: minimum 2 years bookkeeping experience; high level of proficiency in Excel; English and Spanish or Catalan.
  • Preferred: Experience in either retail or tourism sectors; experience with international tax accounting; experience with comprehensive ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics.

Contract Details

  • 40hr full time contract Monday to Friday.
  • Initial 6 month contract with posibilities to extend for the right candidate.

Financial Controller, Full Time

Objectives

To provide strategic financial insight into the commercial activities of Eat Sleep Cycle; to provide timely & accurate financial information in order to drive decision-making; to ensure the timely submission of all regulatory reporting; to manage cash flow.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Meet all Spanish financial regulatory reporting requirements. Includes: IVA, intrastat reporting, model 347, OSS sales reporting (from July 2021). Understanding of future changes to requirements as either the business or regulation changes.
  • Present monthly Management Information packs, including month-end accounts for partners and prepare a summary for the full staff team.
  • Update cash flow as required, e.g. weekly/monthly, depending on current cash position.
  • Identify cash shortages & advise on funding requirements; work with partners to identify best funding options available.
  • Create an annual budget by business stream to align with the strategy.

Skills and Experience

  • Must be a qualified accountant with experience of Spanish GAAP.
  • Must have experience of accounting software. Experience with comprehensive ERP systems that feed into the finances, such as Microsoft Dynamics, is a plus.
  • Ideally has experience in retail, tourism and/ or hospitality.
  • Experience with change management and/ or IT implementation projects is a plus.
